The Lodge's grounds almost touch the mighty Clutha River (Mata – Au) with its salmon and trout fishing and water sports. A short walk takes guests to Lake Roxburgh, kayaking and boating. All around are walking tracks, biking trails, history to explore and off-roading with host Phil Winterbottom. Bikes and kayaks available for hire.

In the restaurant kitchen, host Kim Winterbottom, self-confessed foodie and qualified chef, produces gourmet delights using local and seasonal produce. At 1.5 hrs from Dunedin and 1.5 hours from Queenstown/Southern Lakes, the Lake Roxburgh Lodge Restaurant is perfect as a mid-way stop off for all day espresso, beverages, snacks and an extensive lunch and dinner menu.
